What makes data AI-ready?
Data is AI-ready when AI tools can rely on what it means: agreed definitions, known sources and a structure that reflects how systems behave today. Moving data into a warehouse or vector store is not enough on its own.
Why do AI tools need shared definitions?
An agent asked how many active customers you have needs to know what active means, and which of several customer tables to trust. Without agreed definitions it guesses, and the answer sounds equally confident either way.
What provides that context?
A common data model establishes shared definitions across your systems. A semantic layer makes that agreed business meaning available to analytics and AI tools. Keeping the model current as sources change keeps the context accurate.
